Initially a bullied gopher, his speed was discovered by Hiruma as he was literally forced into joining the football team at Deimon. By becoming the running back and the ace of the Deimon Devil Bats, Sena matures and becomes braver, and becomes willing to place himself in danger of physical harm in order to achieve his goals.
Speed and agility is great, but it's better if you got the power and strength too.

So his advantage in football is his speed, huh? I'm guessing that either some time out there in the field made him that muscular, or he built up some muscle and strength to help him out even further. Either way, it just looks both fitting and well done.
